Doug Baldwin was awarded the NFL Special Teams Player of the Week versus the St. Louis Rams at CenturyLink Field. Not only did he lead team with seven catches for 93 yards and TD, he took a reverse handoff on the opening kickoff and returned it 37 yards. He also downed the Seahawks first punt of the game at the Rams’ own 6-yard line. After that drive ended in a punt, he blocked the attempt which resulted in a 17-yard return by Michael Robinson for touchdown.

Seattle became the 12th team in NFL  history to advance to the Super Bowl after winning it the previous year by defeating the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game, 28-22, in OT. Seattle overcame a 16-point, second-half deficit to win after Russell Wilson connected with Jermaine Kearse on a 35-yard TD to end the game. It marked Seattle’s ninth consecutive postseason win at home, tied for the third-longest streak in NFL  history. The game also marked a record for CenturyLink Field attendance record with 68,538 12s on hand.
